The
first side and door fitted very well. The second side was a
little more difficult due to the side of the jeep not being welded on
straight. This upset the alignment of the door in the opening and the
kink didn't match that of the body tub. |

A
busy weekend saw all the panels made and most of them painted. |
|
|
The
windows are now fitted to the right side and the panels fitted to the
jeep to see how it all looks. The next job will be to make the
handles/door catches. |
|
|
The
handles were made using a 6mm bolt, threaded into 'T' nuts on each
side of the door to support them. A 3/23 x 3/4
steel bar was then welded to the bolt head to form the handle. The
main lower handle latches around the door strap eyelet, while the
upper latch slots into the top of the screen frame. |
