It was a good day out for the Christmas Cracker Run, not too complicated. We had 17 vehicles turn up, mostly at the last minute, but that’s ok. We were
confined to outdoors this year, partly due to safety considerations with covid and also due to floor repairs at the sports centre where we normally start, with a warm drink, bacon butty and a pee. The route was once again organised and led by Simon roberts in his Jeep with his junior crew of Ralph and Sid on board, he did a great job, of leading the convoy, watching the route and keeping his two young boys entertained and strapped in! talk about multitasking!! The route took us approx. 2 hours along the various back roads of North Yorkshire, visiting Fewston and Lindley reservoirs, providing entertainment for the many walkers who were out for the day.
We covered approx. 48 miles, and finished at the Three Acres Camp site just off of the A59 close to the Millstones restaurant which we have visited on past occasions. Jim Foster had very kindly offered to let us use his camp site for a base to finish at and for those that wanted to, to have a picnic. Only a couple wanted a picnic most continued on under their own steam to the Millstones and had a delicious carvery.
