The crank down was based at the
Black Swan pub at Fearby, just outside Masham, North Yorkshire. Sean McCourt the pub landlord and MVT member was very accommodating to us allowing us to use the well appointed camp site at the rear of the
pub for our stop over. He did us some really favourable rates too. As the pub sells good quality beer and does excellent food
( including breakfast ), it's a wonder we managed to drag ourselves away for a road run on both Saturday and Sunday.
Being the Hero's that we are, we managed to get away for 10.00am.
( Sean, also being a hero, left the running of his pub to somebody else and joined us for the day in his half ton Dodge
Command
car ). We had an excellent days run covering over 60 miles in some beautiful Yorkshire countryside, over moors and fields with some stunning views. We had 12 vehicles in our little convoy, which was just about enough, for safe travels. Simon Roberts and Gary Docherty were our route masters and what a great job they did too! We were joined by Colin and Liz Parr from Portsmouth who love our runs and countryside they have been coming to our events for over 15
years (and of course they always get a warm Yorkshire welcome ).
On Sunday we had more of the same with a completely different route, taking in the Costa coffee in Catterick and finishing close to home in the afternoon with a Brymor ice cream from their own creamery. Well done to all who organised, and joined in.
